Why We Choose Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only FDA approved permanent hair removal for any hair or skin type. It has proven to be effective since its inception in 1875. Despite the effects of one's heredity, endocrine disorders, hormone dysfunction, years of temporary methods, hair growth cycles, conditions like PCOS, or side-effects from stress or medications it is still 100% permanent and safe for most body areas!

Electrolysis is superior to other temporary methods. They require lifetime maintenance, are more expensive in the long run, and cause side effects like irritation, ingrown hairs, and skin discoloration. Laser has not been granted FDA approval and can only claim to reduce hair growth permanently, provided you have the right skin and hair tone combination to begin with.

Welcome, whether you are coming back from a long hiatus or are just starting your research! Our 30 minute Consultations include a presentation that usually answers your questions before you can ask them! We ensure you are a good candidate in terms of health history and goals. After a hair and skin evaluation, we'll co-create a plan with respect to your availability, budget, skin sensitivity, rate of growth, and any other concerns. Optionally, we conclude with a short, trial treatment.

Please note that all appointments require at least 1/8" or 2-5 days of hair growth. We recommend waiting after waxing or pulling for about a month before the appointment so the hair can grow back in and be properly evaluated. Feel free to trim the hair between sessions. See Before & Aftercare Protocol at the top of this page for more information.

AZURE ELECTROLYSIS TREATMENTS

How does Electrolysis work? How does it feel?

Azure offers all three modalities of Electrolysis (Galvanic, Thermolysis, and Blend), because one may serve you better than another. We select a single use probe that matches the size of the hair being treated. This will deliver ultra fast, tiny pulses of electric current. The current can be set in slow or fast frequencies and it works with our own natural electrolytes to form Chemical (also called Electrolysis or Galvanic), Heat (Thermolysis or High Frequency), or Blended (both chemical and heat simultaneously blended together) destruction of the cells that grow the hair.

Personal comfort levels vary greatly, but most people can tolerate electrolysis with the option of numbing cream. Your electrologist is gentle and well trained, so much so that you may not even realize the probe is inside your hair follicle. The sensation of the current has been described as "pressure" or "a quick flash of heat. Once the hair is properly treated it slides away easily.

 Our relaxing cataphoresis aftercare treatment helps to cleanse, purify, and reduce any redness or swelling. These side effects normally go away completely with in hours.

Electrolysis is a series of individual treatments that completely rid undesirable hair, once the entire series is completed. Each session lasts from 10 to 60 minutes. Dedication is worth it because you'll love these results for a lifetime!
